What's this page about?

Hi, my name is Tom and I'm a big Depeche Mode fan. Besides DM I like all kind of heavy music as well. The first time I heard the song Everything Counts by In Flames on their CD Whoracle, I was so excited about this cover version. As a fan of In Flames it was the ultimate cover version for me. Since I listened to this song, I began to look for further Depeche Mode cover versions from other metal bands, but the search was fruitless.

After a few years, I've picked up my search for Depeche Mode covers again. The CD Whoracle is now almost 10 years old. I decided to ask other Depeche Mode fans - more people know more things. So I registered to some DM forums and I landed on a nice forum (depechemode-forum.eu) with many friendly people. They helped me to find many many cover versions. But I just can't get enough of heavy Depeche Mode cover versions.

After a little talk with Michael from depechemodecovers.com Michael pushed me to do a project like modeified.com, but only for bands that rock!

And so depecherockcovers.com was born.

Who is the site for?

This site is for bands and listeners. For Depeche Mode fans from Depeche Mode fans. And for all who like heavy DM cover versions.

So if you're a musician playing heavy riffs and you also like Depeche Mode, then why just don't make a cover version and send it to me?

First of all this is a non-profit project. As soon as enough songs are submitted, I'll make a compilation with a CD artwork and put it onto this page for free download. For every band or artist who submits a song that will be featured on this compilation, I'll offer a place on this page where they can add their profile with band picture, a short description about the band and also the band contact information.

The site has just started, but I hope that it will grow fast.
